Map and DirectionsOur Toastmasters Club was chartered in 1986 and has won numerous club awards. Our membership is small but friendly and enthusiastic. We all support and encourage each other in achieving our speaking and leadership goals. We joined Toastmasters for a variety of reasons: to overcome nervousness, to build up our confidence, to learn leadership and organizational skills, and to improve our presentation and communication skills. We are a community club; any adult is welcome to join.
A typical meeting consists of a speaking portion in which members give prepared speeches. Each speech addresses a different skill such as using gestures or organizing your speech. We practice our impromptu skills by speaking on a topic presented at the meeting. Small roles such as an invocation, joke or word of the day provide small speaking roles for new members. Speakers are given constructive feedback through written and oral evaluations. The speeches are timed and members are given feedback on their use of grammar.
Come to our meeting as a guest to see what it's like, and to see how we can help you achieve your educational goals. Email our Vice President of membership, Donna Walters, at
